Growing up in Devon in a family of engineers and artists, I was forever making things and always encouraged to experiment.
Following a BA (Hons) in Silversmithing & Jewellery in 2011 from The Cass, London Metropolitan University,I set up my studio in North London. My work almost always has an historical influence. I love the Elizabethan era with its fine detailing, opulence and dramatic scale, which you can see in my ‘Ruffle’ collection, and the challenge of making strips of silver appear like undulating folds of fabric. I am also interested in architecture and urban landscapes, for their dramatic scale and beauty in repetition.
I combine a variety of materials such as stainless steel mesh-cloth, precious metals and Japanese paper with textile and silversmithing techniques and my collections are made in small batches for galleries and retail shows. Each piece is individually made.
I strive to create work that is visually striking, reflecting the spirit of my research - alluding to the past but innovative and timeless.
